The Christmas parties are in full swing and many of us will have invested in a fake tan to get that golden glow for our works party night out. At Body Language Taunton our flawless spray tan which develops naturally in a few hours normally lasts between 7-10 days. A lot of you will often apply your own fake tan over this period as the beauty salons fill up pretty quickly in the run up to Christmas. If you have had any tanning disasters you might want to follow these top tips to remove your fake tan so that you aren’t left with any patches.
Use an oil to gently massage into your body to make sure that your skin remains hydrated.Start exfoliating but make sure you do it gently to avoid damaging your skin. This will start breaking down the tan. A hot steam room or hot bathroom can also help to loosen any remaining tan. If any of the tan is being stubborn and won’t come off lemon juice and baking soda could help. We always advise keep your skin moisturised after wearing fake tan.
If you have been unfortunate enough to get any fake tan on your clothing, you want to try and get it off as soon as possible before the tan sets in. You can dab the stain first with soapy water and a detergent solution before putting it in the wash. As long as the fabric is machine washable you shouldn’t have a problem in doing so, just check the labels beforehand. You might have to repeat this process a couple of times until the stain has been removed, just be sure to check each time, you want to avoid putting the clothes in the tumble dryer or drying it in the sun until the stain has been removed completely otherwise the heat could cause the stain to set into the fabric.
